I woke up Saturday morning to see beautiful snow coating the outdoors. Soon I was getting a call from my friend Linda. Yes, of course I wanted to go for a walk! The scenery was so spectacular; I have to share it with you.

This is the start of the trail from the parking lot. I’ll mostly let the pictures do the talking.

This is the Flint River. Anything connected with Flint seems to get a bad rap, but isn’t it gorgeous?

Love it. Everything looks better when it’s coated with nature’s frosting.

We met this man in the park. In the first picture he’s not looking at the camera. In the second one, the dog’s are looking away. I couldn’t decide which picture to post, so I did both.

This man said him and his wife come to the park often. We saw quite a few people out there. It was nice seeing people getting out and having fun.

There’s Linda. Just get her somewhere where there are wonderful things to take pictures of and she’s in heaven.

The Flint River again.

There was a bird feeder near by. Word got out because there were lots of birds in the area.
If you can, bundle up and get outside and enjoy nature. It’s a wonderland out there!
So beautiful! I like the term “nature’s frosting”! I wonder how cold it was that day. I can walk outside as long as it is not too cold and the wind is not too bad. Your pictures are beautiful! Enjoy your day!

It wasn’t that cold at all. Maybe the low 30’s – not positive. A couple days before we were at the park, we went around the thumb. On Wednesday on the east side of the thumb, it wasn’t too cold. The next day we were coming down the west side of the thumb with the wicked west wind whipping across the bay and smacking into shore. It was bitter, bitter cold. But.. the ice formations we saw were well worth enduring the chilly air. I hope to do a post on that in the next week.

Normally, white is such a boring color, but when snow blankets the ground, it makes everything look frosted and yummy.
